System Requirements

Operating System	Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows 11.
Runtime	Required application components are delivered with the Microsoft Store package.
Disk Space	Application size plus space for the local database, screenshots, backups and broker bridge files.
Display	Use a desktop resolution and Windows scaling where all controls remain readable. Test common 100%, 125% and 150% DPI settings.

Installing FTJ

Forgalis TradingJournal is distributed through Microsoft Store.

Open the Forgalis TradingJournal listing in Microsoft Store.
Choose Install.
Launch Forgalis TradingJournal from the Start menu.

Updating FTJ

Updates are delivered through Microsoft Store. Store updates should preserve the user’s local database and settings, but keeping a current backup before a major update is still recommended.

Internet Use

The journal is local-first and normal manual journaling works with the local SQLite database.

Internet access is required for workflows such as:

cTrader authentication and fetching;
supported online exchange-rate fetching;
Freemius licence activation, refresh, checkout and customer-portal actions;
Microsoft Store installation and updates.

MT4 and MT5 workflows read from selected local terminal/bridge components.

Local Data

The active database path is shown in Settings -> Database. Database files are ordinary local .db files that can be backed up or copied when the application is not writing to them.

The default database is normally created under the user’s Forgalis TradingJournal folder, but the active path shown in Settings is authoritative because the user can open or create another database with full access.

Uninstalling

Use Windows Settings -> Apps -> Installed apps -> Forgalis TradingJournal -> Uninstall.

Do not assume uninstalling is a backup strategy. Copy important .db files and backups to a separate safe location before uninstalling or resetting Windows.
