First Launch
When Forgalis TradingJournal opens for the first time, it creates or opens a local database and shows the Dashboard. Setup guidance helps you configure the account and add or import trading data.
Your Active Database
The current database path is shown in Settings -> Database. The active path is authoritative because full-access users can create or open another local .db file.
Dashboard Controls
Dashboard controls can include:
Toggle Guide - show or hide workflow guidance.
New Trade - open a new trade when the current licence/count permits it.
Refresh - reload data and recalculate visible Dashboard values.
Account Filter - choose Live Only, Demo Only or All.
Account Selector - select one account or All Accounts.
Reporting Currency - choose the currency used for combined monetary reporting.
Database path - identify the active local database.
Dashboard filters do not silently change the trade editor’s selected trade.
Demo Mode on First Launch
Without an active subscription or trial, FTJ runs in Demo Mode.
Manual trade creation and imports can start while fewer than 20 persisted trades exist.
An authorised import is complete and can move the journal above 20 trades.
Multiple accounts and exchange rates remain manageable.
The global trade limit is shared across the current database.
Next Steps
Configure an account and its base currency, then continue to Your First Trade or use the documented import/broker workflow.
