Set up the first journal account, understand FTJ's local-first database, learn the current navigation and see where manual entry, imports, Dashboard, Reports and backups begin.

Current 1.1.25 workflow

FTJ is a local-first Windows trading journal. Start by creating or selecting a journal account, then use the current sidebar to move through the main workflow.

  • Home opens the Dashboard overview; Reports contains the deeper multi-panel closed-trade analysis.
  • Trades is where manual journal entries are created and reviewed.
  • Strategy contains Strategies, Confluences, Exit Reasons and Mistakes.
  • Rates manages exchange rates; Settings contains database, backup, lot-size, Break-Even classification, licence and test-tool settings.
  • Brokers contains the read-only cTrader, MT4 and MT5 import workflows.

File import starts from Settings > Database > Import. In Demo Mode, new manual trades and new imports can start while the journal has fewer than 20 persisted trades; an authorised import is not truncated at 20.
