Pair-Specific Forex Tool
USD/CAD Pip Calculator
Calculate the value of one pip and the total pip value for USD/CAD. The calculator opens with USD/CAD selected and keeps lot size, lot type, pips, account currency and conversion rate editable.
Lot size is multiplied by the selected lot type.
No conversion needed: CAD is the quote currency and your account currency.
For non-quote account currencies, enter the conversion rate you want to use, or use the optional latest indicative FX rate. Uses latest indicative FX rates. Broker/platform prices may differ.
USD/CAD pip value example
USD/CAD is quoted in CAD. For a CAD account, 1 standard lot is 10 CAD per pip because 100,000 units x 0.0001 = 10 CAD.
If you enter 25 pips, the total value is 10 CAD x 25 = 250 CAD before costs. If your account currency differs from CAD, conversion may be needed.
How this calculation works
For USD/CAD, CAD is the quote currency and the typical pip size is 0.0001. Position units = lot size x lot type units. Pip value in quote currency = position units x pip size.
If your account currency is not CAD, the calculator uses the conversion rate and direction you enter. Total value = pip value per pip x number of pips.
