Forgalis AB ("Forgalis", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Forgalis TradingJournal ("FTJ", the "App") handles information when you use the App and related support services.
1. Who this policy applies to
This Privacy Policy applies to the Forgalis TradingJournal desktop application and any related support or communication concerning the App. If you visit our website, separate website-specific privacy or cookie practices may also apply.
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use FTJ, the App may process the following categories of information:
a. User-entered trading journal data
FTJ is designed to store and organize information you choose to enter, such as trade notes, journal entries, position details, instrument names, prices, timestamps, related trade information, tags, comments, and other custom content you choose to add.
b. Broker connection and integration data
If you choose to connect FTJ to a third-party broker or service, such as cTrader, the App may process information necessary to authenticate the connection and retrieve relevant account or trading data. This may include authorization tokens, account identifiers, trade history, and account or position-related information made available through the connected service.
c. Support communications
If you contact Forgalis for support, we may process the information you provide, such as your name, email address, message contents, screenshots, logs, or attachments you choose to send.
d. Technical and diagnostic information
FTJ may generate local logs or error details to help identify and resolve technical issues. These logs are primarily stored locally unless you choose to share them with us for support purposes.
e. Purchase, subscription, and license data
If you purchase, subscribe to, or activate FTJ through Freemius, Freemius may process information required to complete the purchase, manage subscriptions, issue invoices, calculate taxes, handle refunds, provide license keys, and validate license activation. This may include your name, email address, billing information, country, VAT/tax information where applicable, order details, subscription status, license key, activation status, and related transaction or account information.
3. How your information is stored
FTJ is designed primarily as a desktop application with local data storage. In general, your journal and app data are stored locally on your device unless a feature explicitly requires communication with an external service. Forgalis does not sell your personal data. Forgalis does not use advertising trackers in FTJ.
Purchase, billing, subscription, invoice, and license activation data are not stored only locally. When you purchase or activate FTJ through Freemius, that data is processed and stored by Freemius as necessary to provide checkout, licensing, subscription management, invoices, tax compliance, refunds, and customer account services.
4. How we use information
We use information processed through FTJ only as needed to provide the App's features and functionality, save, organize, and display your trading journal data, enable optional broker or service integrations you choose to use, troubleshoot problems and provide customer support, and improve the stability, security, and reliability of the App.
Where applicable, we may also use purchase, subscription, and license-related information to process purchases, subscriptions, renewals, refunds, and invoices; validate license keys and manage license activation status; provide access to paid features; prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized license use, and other misuse of the App; and comply with applicable tax, accounting, legal, and regulatory obligations.
FTJ does not use your trading journal data for advertising. We do not sell your personal data.
5. Third-party services and broker integrations
a. Broker integrations
FTJ may allow you to connect to third-party services, such as broker platforms. If you choose to use such features, information required for the integration may be transmitted to or received from that third-party service; your use of that service is also subject to the third party's own terms and privacy policy; and Forgalis is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. You should review the privacy policy of any broker or service you choose to connect to FTJ.
b. Payment and licensing provider
We use Freemius as our payment, subscription, tax, customer portal, and software licensing provider. If you purchase, subscribe to, or activate FTJ through Freemius, your use of Freemius checkout, billing, customer portal, subscriptions, license keys, and invoices is also subject to Freemius’ own terms and privacy policy.
6. Sharing of information
Forgalis does not sell personal information.
We only share information in limited circumstances, such as when necessary to provide a feature you explicitly choose to use, such as a broker integration; when you ask us to review logs, exports, screenshots, or support material; when required by law or legal process; or when necessary to protect the rights, security, or integrity of Forgalis, our users, or the App.
Where applicable, purchase, billing, subscription, invoice, tax, license, and activation-related information may be processed by Freemius as necessary to provide checkout, licensing, subscription management, refunds, invoices, tax compliance, customer portal access, and related account services.
We do not share your local trading journal data with Freemius.
7. Data retention
Because FTJ primarily stores data locally, you generally control how long your journal and related app data remain on your device.
Forgalis may retain support emails or support-related information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain service records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
Freemius may retain purchase, billing, subscription, invoice, tax, license, activation, and account-related information as necessary to provide checkout, licensing, subscription management, refunds, invoices, tax compliance, customer portal access, maintain records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and manage active or historical licenses.
8. Your choices and control
You can generally control your information by choosing what data you enter into FTJ, choosing whether to connect third-party broker or service integrations, and deleting local app data from your device.

You can manage purchase, subscription, billing details, license keys, invoices, and related account information through the Freemius Customer Portal.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information we receive and maintain. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are also responsible for securing your own device, backups, credentials, and access to any third-party broker or service you connect to FTJ.
10. Children's privacy
FTJ is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.
11. International processing
FTJ is designed primarily for local data storage. Your local trading journal data remains stored on your device unless you choose to use a feature that requires communication with an external service or choose to send information to us for support.
Information you choose to send to us for support, through broker integrations, or through other third-party services may be processed in countries other than your own.
Purchase, billing, subscription, invoice, tax, license, activation, and account-related information processed through Freemius may also be processed in countries where Freemius or its service providers operate.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
